Genomics- Genome is the “Final Frontier”, not Space! Most of space is pretty boring, at least till we find the aliens up there to play with. Apollo 11 landed the first humans on the moon on July 20, 1969. It was so boring on the moon that after a little while, we stopped going back there! The human genome though is pure excitement!
Genomics is the study of genomes. A genome contains all the genetic information needed to build a certain organism; it contains the genes or the coding DNA as well as the noncoding DNA, and the mitochondrial DNA.
Genomics is particularly useful for studying certain areas in medicine such as studying and researching drugs’ side effects. I have carried out biological research studies as well as utilized numerous computer technologies for research in genomics.
